【摘要】:ThisBritishStandardgivesrecommendationsandguidanceonthedesign,managementanduseofthefollowingbuildingtypes,toachievereasonablestandardsoffiresafetyforallpeopleinandaround:Dwellings(single-familydwellinghouses,self-containedflatsormaisonettes);Residentialaccommodationblocks(e.g.forstudentsorhospitalstaff),withindividualbedroomsandtheprovisionofkitchen/sanitaryfacilitiesconstructedwithinafirecompartment,accommodatingnotmorethansixpersons;Shelteredhousingandextracarehousing.Itisnotapplicabletohotels,caravans/mobilehomes,hospitals,residentialcare/nursinghomes,placesoflawfuldetention,hostelsorhousesofmultipleoccupancy.ThisBritishStandardisapplicabletothedesignofnewbuildings,andtomaterialalterations,extensionsandmaterialchangeofuseofanexistingbuilding.Italsoprovidesguidanceontheongoingmanagementoffiresafetyinabuildingthroughouttheentirelifecycleofthebuilding,includingguidancefordesignerstoensurethattheoveralldesignofabuildingassistsandenhancesthemanagementoffiresafety.Itcanbeusedasatoolforassessingexistingbuildings,althoughfundamentalchangeinlinewiththeguidelinesmightwellbelimitedornotpracticable.
